Autumn 2005. Miia goes to Jyväskylä to start her studies and her friend tells about a rumour that a dance music band is searching for a new vocalist. Immediately excited about the rumour, Miia contacts Kimmo. They arrange a meeting and start visualizing the band concept. Miia already has a number of usable songs which are soon put into production in Kimmo’s home studio. Background melodies and arrangements are soon finished and then the duo proceeds into recording. The first songs are completed and G-Powered is chosen as the name for the band. The name emphasizes both their musical style and the underlying message. In the spring of 2006, G-Powered goes touring and starts plans for a studio album. More new songs also follow.
In autumn 2006, G-Powered records more songs for their first studio album. At the same time, their tour schedule is becoming more and more booked. During the Maata Näkymissä festival in November, G-Powered releases their first album, titled Odottanut oon. After the album is released, they take a short creative break from songwriting. After their New Year Eve ‘s performance in Ryttylä, it is time to go back into making music. Shortly afterwards, G-Powered releases new material in Mikseri.net. The new songs are well received by the audience and in 2007 the band also starts Dance Tour 2007 and performs in several Finnish nightclubs. The songwriting continuesŠ
