NEW MUSIC: CHAZ MILES – “NO EGO”

Chaz Miles grew up in Pueblo, CO. He began singing in gospel music at age six and was raised in a Christian environment, as his mother and grandfather are pastors.

Despite his emersion in the church, Chaz’s talents were best displayed in sports early on. Miles played football at Pueblo Central High School. His high school history included being named a three-time all-league and two-time all-state honoree. He also earned the title of team MVP two years in a row. He was also was named an all-state athlete in basketball and track and field.

After graduation he went on to play football and study speech communication and religious studies at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. What began as a chance to fulfill his childhood dream of a ticket to the NFL as a Wide Receiver for the Rams, resulted in a call to music when a career ending knee injury was quickly followed by a Myspace message from an intern at S and J Artist Management and Consulting in California. Shortly thereafter, Chaz made his first industry move and signed on with the management firm under “Big King.”

During his time at CSU Chaz became in integral part of Iasis Christ Fellowship in Fort Collins, CO. He became the Worship Leader under head pastor Johnny Square in 2008 where he served until 2011.

In 2009, Miles and the Iasis Worship Band wrote and recorded “Daddy,” Miles’ first worship CD. The project was a huge step for Chaz and the band selling over 1,500 copies.

2010 marks the beginning of Chaz’s launch of his music ministry

vision Heartbeat. The release of Chaz’s first solo LP, “The Difference” was much awaited by many of his loyal and growing fan base. Featuring tracks from top industry producers, like Ric Rudd, “The Difference,” is only the first step of many to come!

NEW MUSIC: S.B.G. – “BRAND NEW”

Posted on December 20, 2011 by P-Dub in HIP HOP VIDEOS No Comments
NEW MUSIC: S.B.G. – “BRAND NEW”

Born and raised in Northern California, Brian “SBG” Todd, found an attraction to the street mentality at a young age. The current all-star rappers of the time, Mac Dre, Woodie, Master P and others, glorified a life style of sin in their videos that attracted Brian.

His father left when he was very young and forced his mother to raise him and his two brothers alone. Unfortunately, drug and alcohol abuse were common in his home.

At the age of thirteen Brian found himself in trouble with law enforcement and spent the majority of his teenage years in and out of juvenile hall and various other programs. It was in one of these programs, at the age of twenty, that Brian was introduced to Christianity in Ramona California. He committed his life to the lord Jesus Christ and was baptized.

Unfortunately Brian didn’t understand the depth of the commitment that he had made and strayed back into the world for six more years. However, God in His grace covered Brian, and spared him from many circumstances that should have either taken his life, or landed him in prison. Brian descended into drug use and the secular rap scene. His girlfriend left and took his children with her. Brian was completely and utterly lost . . . again.

July twenty-second 2010 he began to surrender and the Lord Jesus began to work in his life, freeing him from his use of drugs and alcohol. About the same time his younger brother had begun attending a local fellowship by the name of Lighthouse Christian Church. Brian had tried the church, but in truth, was still in the process of surrendering to the Lord’s leading.

In November, he finally surrendered. He found a home in Lighthouse Christian Church and since then has attended weekly Bible studies and has dedicated himself as a functioning member within the church. God restored his relationship with his children and his girlfriend, Jessica, whom he can now call his wife. Brian continues to pursue God’s purpose in his life, family and ministry

NEW MUSIC: D.J. – “PSALM 24″ Feat. BRAILLE

NEW MUSIC: D.J. – “PSALM 24″ Feat. BRAILLE

v

dJ presents his debut album “Enjoy The SONshine” a collection of 12 high energy, positive, Christ-centered hip hop songs with the aim of proclaiming the glory of God and describing a life that enjoys knowing Christ! The album opens with the first single “Psalm 24” featuring christian hip hop veteran Braille. This single is sonically stunning and exhilaratingly lyrical, as an anthem track for the new “generation of those who seek the God of Jacob” based on Psalm 24 in the Bible.

God is doing something new in this generation of young people coming up, so dJ and Braille bring this explosive track for the movement!  Next, the title track “Enjoy The Sonshine” describes the freedom to enjoy life, in Christ. It’s a high energy song crushing the myth that the Christian life is a boring one, and reaffirms instead that it is an awesome adventure.

Other notable tracks include “I Don’t Want it” featuring Harmony Hi-See whom dJ co-labors with in music ministry in Medford, Oregon, “Be With You” featuring Ben Jammin who also ministers with dJ, “Virus” featuring Kurious, “No Compromise” featuring Least of All (from the Bay Area’s very own group-Not By sight) & Tyler Goens, as well as “Glory” an anthem featuring Dan Wallace & Nova Miller (also from the group Not By Sight). Finally, “Put Some Clothes On” stands out as a sobering message to the young women (and men) of this generation calling them to live in purity for Christ, through this story-telling track. When main-stream hip hop & media is literally calling for young women to be naked and party wildly and promiscuously, this song exhorts young women to value purity in Christ and live in the Holy Spirit.

This album features top notch production by producers J.R., Superstar O, Stomboxx Music, dJ, and many others. “ENJOY THE SONSHINE” releases December 2, 2011 on Itunes, Amazon.com, Rhapsody, & other major online stores.

Bio of dJ

From his hometown near Medford, Oregon to Redding, Sacramento, and the Bay Area, California, d.J. has lived and experienced the small town and urban city life, and it is d.J.’s mission to “positively affect the culture of this generation for Jesus Christ, everywhere, especially through hip hop music”. Currently, this 21 year-old musician is an up in coming Christian hip hop artist and has performed with many great artists including: Flame, V. Rose, Braille, Everyday Process, Grits, and many others all over Northern California & Southern Oregon! d.J. is committed to studying the Word with his local Church where he is currently living in Medford,Oregon, sharing the gospel, and using the art of hip hop as a platform to share the gospel of Christ & teach through great music. d.J. will independently release his debut album “Enjoy The SONshine” on December 2nd, 2011 on iTunes & other major digital music stores. NEW ARTIST: JDUB – “STAND ON IT” Feat – DJ MORPH and TONY P

NEW ARTIST: JDUB – “STAND ON IT” Feat – DJ MORPH and TONY P

Through hip hop beats and catchy lyrics, Stuart rapper Jeff Williams, 33, preaches the word of God.

But at the start of his music career, a 13-year-old Williams was skipping school and going to bars and night clubs with his father’s local rock band, Baracuda, to rap about glorifying drugs, sex and riches.

“My brother, who is my mentor in all things, saved me and led me to the Lord,” said Williams, who goes by JDUB. “Going to church was like a slap in the face and a dunk in cold water. I realized the music I was making was the opposite of what it should it be.”

Williams continues making music about the same topics. This time, though, his perspective is different.

“I still talk about smoking weed and wanting money,” he said. “My audience is the people who are listening to Lil Wayne or Kanye (West). But, I’m telling listeners the truth about where weed and sex and wanting money will really lead them — nowhere good.”

Amy Yeager, 19, first heard JDUB at a concert at her local church, First Baptist Church of Lake Park.

At the time, she was getting into trouble at school and dealing with an abusive boyfriend.

“One of his songs, called ‘The Key,’ made me want to change my life,” Yeager said. “JDUB made me accept Christ. He, his music, saved me.”

Yeager, who now goes to church every Sunday and Wednesday, was baptized last month.

Williams spends several days a month performing at churches from Fort Pierce to Miami, as well as occasionally opening up for such Christian artists as Grammy-nominated rock band Fireflight.

The independent artist has completed four CDs, of which 4,000 copies have sold. In the works is his fifth album, titled “5.”

This year, Williams, who writes all his lyrics, released the single, “He Changed Me.” The song was picked up by six stations across the nation, he said.

“Would I love to get signed by a big label? Absolutely,” Williams said. “I want to be able to do my music full time, but right now I’m doing the things that are most important to me.”

Williams is a husband and father of two girls, Jalynn, 7, and Eden, 10, both students at Crystal Lake Elementary in Stuart.

When he’s not rapping, he’s working at Palm Beach Atlantic University as a records coordinator and as a part-time children’s pastor at Stuart’s Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church.

Williams said he maintains his spiritual health mentally by listening to Christian songs.

“Sure, if there’s something new I want to give a quick listen to, I will,” he said. “But, it’s that mainstream rap that encouraged me as an adolescent to do what I was doing. Because of it, I thought missing 46 days of school in sixth grade was cool. Music is a state of mind, and that’s why my music is the same beat as what’s popular, but it sends a message of love, respect and faith.”

NEW ARTIST: JAYLAFE’ – “Claim You” ft. Braille (produced by Tony Stone)

NEW ARTIST: JAYLAFE’ – “Claim You” ft. Braille (produced by Tony Stone)

Born in Houston, Jaylafé (Jared Lafitte) has called many places home, from Quito, Ecuador to the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas to Chicago, IL to Louisville, KY.  Spending his childhood in Laredo, TX and McAllen, TX, Jaylafé was raised by two classically-trained musicians and developed a love for music at an early age.  Piano, drumset and guitar were significant parts of Jaylafé’s childhood.  Rhythm became a passion.

As a teenager, Jaylafé discovered hip hop.  Rap music served as the musical soundtrack for many of his friends’ lives, whether it blared in a boom box on the basketball courts or played in the background as his friends cruised the streets of McAllen, Texas.  But to Jaylafé, rap became more than entertainment; it was an art, a science and a love.  It allowed his love for words to intersect with his love for rhythm, and he devoted himself to understand it.  Having been trained in music, Jaylafé would often write out the rhythms of the lines of lyrics he heard, studying the flow patterns, rhyme schemes and movement of ideas within a song.  Rap became a profound fascination.

Jaylafé enrolled at Wheaton College in Chicago in the fall of 2004.  Though he started college as a physics major, music composition became more of a passion.  He entered the Wheaton Conservatory and thrived in a world of music theory and music history, studying the great composers of the past and learning the art of classical and modern composition.  While studying music seriously, he wrote satirical songs and poems reflecting on college life to entertain his friends.  His friends recognized his talent for writing music, but he didn’t take it seriously, choosing instead to spend hours listening to and studying rap on his iPod as a soundtrack to college life.  He graduated with a Bachelors of Music Composition in 2008.

Sensing a call to ministry, and at the recommendation of his friend Brandon Shaw, Jared applied to and was accepted at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.  He began pursuing his Master’s degree there in the fall of 2008.  While in seminary, Jaylafé met his wife Amanda, and they were married January 9th, 2010.

During the summer of 2010, while Jaylafé was halfway through his Master’s program, he met Gospel hip hop artist Flame at a Bible study Flame was leading at Immanuel Baptist Church in Louisville.  Jaylafé gave Flame a demo CD and Flame contacted him the next day, encouraging Jaylafé to take hip hop ministry seriously.  Jaylafé and Flame met several times during the summer and fall of 2010, and Jaylafé felt a distinct call toward hip hop ministry.  Gospel hip hop producer Alex Medina, who lived one block away from Jaylafé at the time, also encouraged him to pursue hip hop ministry.  In the spring of 2011 Jaylafé met Gospel hip hop producer Tony Stone.  They began cultivating a relationship which would lead to Jaylafé and Tony Stone’s creating Jaylafé’s debut album, Dream Shift.  On October 18, 2011, “Claim You”, the first single from the album was released, featuring Gospel hip hop artist Braille.  Dream Shift is set for release on November 22nd, 2011.

Jaylafé continues to strive for the upward call of Christ Jesus, actively serving in his local congregation and casting a vision for the development of Christian hip hop artists in Louisville.  While he ponders what the future holds, he rests in the One who holds the future
